públics ubicats a l'illa d'Eivissa.
[eng] The socio-demographic phenomenon that refers to the change in the
composition of the age of the population, is one of the main challenges facing
our increasingly aging society.
This phenomenon represents a significant increase in the amount of people in a
situation of dependency (mostly elderly people), resulting, in a greater
investment in the social and health departments which responds to new
demands of the population. This investment ensures their right to promote
personal autonomy, care and support – all this considered in the present
dissertation - from a perspective of collective and multidimensional social
responsibility that takes into account not only physical needs, but also the
social, emotional and self-determination needs that protect human dignity,
comprehensive and person-centered care within Social and Health Institutions.
This social demand calls for quality training for people who, professionally, will
dedicate their work to the service of this need. Therefore, there is a need for
Integrative Vocational Training, that’s aware of the new social needs and close
relation to the reality: an education that is based in a committed, coordinated
and community-based, that also integrates Learning Technologies and
Communications.
This project, aimed at the Intermediate Level Training Cycle of Technician in
Care for Dependent People, focuses on responding to the need of this
professional figure lacks. Based on a Service-Learning methodology that bases
learning on needs of the environment and that integrates the curricular
coordination of different training modules encouraging the active participation of
students and connecting them with public residential centers located on the
island of Ibiza.
