[eng] This!dissertation investigates how!speaking!has!been!taught!over!the!years!in!the!
English!as!a!foreign!language (EFL) classroom!in!a!Spanish!context!and!defends
that!games!are a!powerful!tool!to help!students improve!their speaking!ability. A
list!of!games!is!provided and,!in!order!to!prove!the!effectiveness!of!these!games,
one!of!them!is put!into!practise!in!a!real!context. The!students’!impressions!were!
collected!through!teacher’s!observation and!a!questionnaire.!The!results!of!the!
questionnaire!were!analysed!and!compared!to!those!discussed!in!the literature!
review.
