El turismo de bienestar o como desestacionalizar la oferta en Baleares

Abstract

[spa] Este trabajo trata de dar solución a un fenómeno turístico que predomina en las Islas Baleares, la estacionalidad. Mediante la propuesta de un nuevo nicho de mercado que podría ser un buen producto para las Islas. El turismo de bienestar y spa se presenta como una salvación a este arraigado problema. Para ello se hace un análisis de este nicho de mercado desde sus orígenes en la antigüedad hasta la actualidad donde ha llegado a consolidarse como una oferta muy rentable enfrente a otras. Además de darse una visión general a nivel nacional e internacional del mismo. También se tratará de entender la demanda de este tipo de turismo en el mercado actual de las Baleares, encontrando sus puntos fuertes y débiles. Ofreciendo sugerencias de mejora para llegar a convertir las islas en un punto de referencia del turismo de bienestar.

[eng] This work tries to solve a tourist phenomenon that predominates in the Balearic Islands, the seasonality. Through the proposal of a new market niche that could be a good product for the Islands. Wellness and spa tourism is presented as a salvation to this problem. In order to achieve it, is necessary to analyses this market niche from its origins in antiquity to the present day, where it has become a consolidated market with a high profitability in front of others. In addition, the work tries to give an overall vision about this market in an internacional and nacional level. Moreover, It will be explained the demand for this type of tourism in the current market of the Balearic Islands, finding its strengths and weaknesses. Offering suggestions for improvement to convert the islands into a reference point for wellness tourism.
