El efecto terapéutico de la dieta cetogénica en el cáncer cerebral

[spa] El glioblastoma maligno es una enfermedad oncológica con una alta tasa de mortalidad, que desafortunadamente los estándares actuales de cuidado no han dado aún con la clave del éxito para alargar la supervivencia. Se está empezando a cambiar el enfoque de la enfermedad desde un punto de vista metabólico. En esta revisión bibliográfica se pretende ver el efecto de la dieta cetogénica como tratamiento adicional al estándar. Los datos hallados, en su mayoría preclínicos, apuntan a un beneficio terapéutico que ciertamente no se sabe si trascenderá a la clínica; sin embargo, sería interesante incrementar la investigación clínica.

[eng] Malignant glioblastoma is an oncological disease with a high mortality rate, which unfortunately current standard care has not yet been given the key to success to prolong survival. It is beginning to change the approach of the disease from a metabolic point of view. In this bibliographic review we want to observe the effect of the ketogenic diet as an additional treatment to the standard. The data are mostly preclinical and they indicate a therapeutic benefit that is not known beyond the clinic; however, it would be interesting to increase clinical research.
