Aportaciones a la iconografía de Narciso. El mito del amor no correspondido

Abstract

[spa] La mitología clásica es el origen de abundantes representaciones artísticas a lo largo de la historia del arte. Entre sus personajes se encuentra Narciso, conocido popularmente como el joven que se enamoró de sí mismo, que protagoniza este trabajo final de grado. Gracias a la literatura clásica se ha recuperado su historia, que se compara y contrasta con obras de arte datadas desde la época clásica hasta la contemporánea. El estudio iconográfico parte de una selección propia de obras, que se organizan en ciclos y en temas iconográficos, y que se analizan a partir de un método propio, observando sus variantes. Entre las aportaciones se evidencia el protagonismo del episodio en que Narciso contempla su reflejo en el agua, pero otros temas menos conocidos han sido también objeto de atención por parte de los artistas.

[eng] Classical mythology is the origin of abundant artistic representations throughout the history of art. Among his characters we can find Narcissus, popularly known as the young man who fell in love with himself. He is the main character of this final degree project. Thanks to classical literature, its history has been recovered, which is compared and contrasted with works of art dating from classical to contemporary times. The iconographic study starts with a selection of works of their own, organized in cycles and iconographic themes, and analysed using their own method, observing their variants. Among the contributions the protagonism of the episode in which Narcissus contemplates his reflection in the water is evident, but other less well-known themes have received attention on the part of the artists.
