Turismo transformacional

Abstract

[eng] Tourism is a very dynamic phenomenon that has evolved exponentially over the last few years. One of its most current form is the transformational tourism. This tourism is explained throughout, deeply delving into the definition as well as detailing its characteristics and its different typologies, among which is volunteer tourism. Volunteer tourism is well known socially, but, is it really helping people the only purpose that is behind such tourism? In this work, a study has been carried out to check, in practical cases, whether volunteer tourism really involves transformational tourism for those who do it, digging into those reasons that encourage society to carry out this type of tourism as well as what their perceptions are once finished. On the other hand, the brakes that cause much of the population to ultimately not decide to do so have also been studied.

[spa] El turismo es un fenómeno muy dinámico que ha ido evolucionando exponencialmente a lo largo de los últimos años. Una de sus más actuales vertientes es el denominado turismo transformacional. Dicho turismo es explicado a lo largo adentrándonos profundamente en la definición así como detallando sus características y sus diferentes tipologías, entre las que se encuentra el turismo de voluntariado. El turismo de voluntariado es muy conocido socialmente, pero ¿es realmente ayudar a la gente el único fin que está detrás de dicho turismo?. En este trabajo se ha procedido a realizar un estudio para comprobar, en casos prácticos, si realmente el turismo de voluntariado supone un turismo transformacional para aquellas personas que lo realizan, indagando en aquellos motivos que incitan a la sociedad a realizar este tipo de turismo así como cuáles son sus percepciones una vez terminado. Por otro lado, también se han estudiado cuáles son los frenos que causan que gran parte de la población no se decida finalmente a realizarlo.
