Género y turismo: La discriminación de género y la alta dirección en el sector turístico.

[spa] La desigualdad de género, a día de hoy, es un problema que sigue afectando a muchas mujeres tanto en el ámbito social como en el laboral, aunque a pesar de los cambios que han habido en los últimos años, sigue habiendo creencias y estereotipos que afecta en todas las esferas de la mujer. A pesar de que la participación de la mujer ha aumentado mucho en el mercado laboral, siguen siendo muy pocas las que consiguen llegar a las altas cúpulas. Por ello en el presente trabajo se realiza un análisis de los diferentes factores que impiden a la mujer tener las mismas condiciones que los hombres en un puesto directivo del sector turístico en España. De la misma manera, se realizará una entrevista a diferentes mujeres que desempeñan un alto cargo en Mallorca (Baleares). A partir de dichas entrevistas se conocerán la experiencia y posición de cada una de ellas, y así proponer nuevas medidas yactuaciones para romper las barreras que obstaculizan la progresión profesional de las mujeres.

[eng] Gender inequality, in today’s society is a problem which still affects most women as much as in a social aspect as in a working aspect. Although there have been changes in the past few years, there are still beliefs and stereotypes which affect all women’slives. Even though the number of women in the working market has significantly increased over the years, there still are only a few who reach managerial levels. Therefore, in the following report analysis of the factors which prevent women from having thesame conditions as men in a managerial position in the tourism sector in Spain. To investigate this, different interviews will be carried out to women that have a high-level job in Mallorca (Balearic Islands). From these interviews it will be possible to learn the experiences and positions of each woman and thus propose new measures and actions to break the barriers that prevent the professional progression of women in Spain
