Abstract:

[spa] La mutilación genital femenina es la práctica más extendida y practicada dentro del grupo de costumbres tradicionales perjudiciales. La MGF según la OMS es definida como todos aquellos procedimientos consistentes en la resección parcial o total de los genitales externos femeninos, así como otras lesiones de los mismos por motivos no médicos. Esta practica supone la violación de los derechos humanos de niñas y mujeres. La enfermería en el sistema de salud es la pieza clave para para la atención y abolición de esta practica desde la capacidad y el conocimiento de la cultura en la que se practica.Se realizó una revisión bibliográfica del tema mediante la búsqueda en tres bases de datos entre los años 2011-2019 en inglés y español. De un total de 112 artículos seleccionados tan solo 21 fueron incluidos junto con la incorporación de 5 documentos obtenidos por búsqueda manual o prospectiva. Los diferentes artículos revisados muestran datos interesantes sobre las diferentes argumentaciones favorables hacia la MFG y su oposición a los ODM, el papel educativo e intervencionista de la enfermera en la mujer y el hombre y el grado de conocimiento,así como el de formación de la profesión enfermera.

[eng] Female genital mutilation is the most widespread and performed practice within the group of harmful traditional customs. According to the WHO, FGM comprehends all those procedures consisting of the partial or total resection of the female external genitalia, as well as other injuries of the same for non-medical reasons. This practice supposes the violation girls and Women’s human rights.Nursing in the health system is the key piece for the care and abolition of this practice from the capacity and knowledge of the culture in which it is practiced.A bibliographic review of the topic was carried out by searching three databases between the years 2011-2019 both in English and Spanish. Out of a total of 112 selected articles, only 21were included together with the incorporation of 5 documents obtainedby manual or prospective search.The different articles reviewed show interesting data on the different favorable arguments towards the MFG and its opposition to the MDGs, the educational and interventionist role of the nurse in women and men, and the degree of knowledge, as well as that of training the profession nurse.
