Yield management en el sector servicios

Abstract

[spa] Este trabajo se divide en la introducción en el sistema de operaciones Yield Management, en el estudio de dos investigaciones relacionadas con el Yield Management y en el análisis de una empresa ficticia del sector del chárter náutico en las Islas Baleares como posible candidata para implementar el Yield Management. El primero de los estudios muestra el crecimiento en el uso de software de Revenue Management en los hoteles nacionales, así como en el uso de herramientas de apoyo. El segundo, presenta un análisis desde la perspectiva del Yield Management a las aerolíneas de precios bajos. Por último, y la parte central del trabajo, muestra el gran potencial que presenta la aplicación del Yield Management en un sector como el chárter náutico, debido a sus singularidades.

[eng] This paper deals with the introduction into Yield Management’s system of operations, the study of two pieces of research related to Yield Management, and the analysis of a fake charter boat company located in the Balearic Islands as a potential candidate for the implementation of Yield Management. The first study shows an increase in national hotels’ use of Revenue Management’s software, as well as an increase in the use of supporting tools. The second one presents an analysis of low-cost airlines from the perspective of Yield Management. The last part of the paper demonstrates the potential that the implementation of Yield Management has in a sector as singular as that of the charter boat.
