La realidad de las familias con hijas o hijos con discapacidad psíquica

Abstract

[spa] La discapacidad es un ámbito muy estudiado, el cual está de actualidad y en el punto de mira, con el propósito de conseguir una sociedad más integradora. Pero detrás de la discapacidad está una familia cuidadora, la cual se encuentra en la sombra, totalmente invisibilizada por los estamentos gubernamentales, sufriendo muchas de ellas una situación precaria al borde del riesgo social. Sin percatarse de que el bienestar familiar de la persona dependiente es vital para garantizar un cuidado óptimo de esta. Este estudio pretende dar voz a estas familias y conocer de primera mano sus realidades, sus necesidades y los obstáculos a los que se enfrentan. La metodología utilizada ha sido en gran parte cualitativa, llevándose a cabo entrevistas en profundidad con cada una de las familias. Los resultados muestran unas realidades familiares muy duras, llenas de incertidumbre, sufrimiento, problemas de salud, etcétera, pero también una fuerza de voluntad por salir adelante.

[eng] Disability is a current issue, whose main objective is to achieve a more inclusive society. It is important to emphasize that behind the disability there is a caring family, which in most cases is in the shadow, totally invisible by the government and suffering a precarious situation on the verge of social risk. Without realizing that the family welfare of the dependent person is vital to ensure optimal care. This study aims to give a voice to these families and to learn first-hand about their realities, their needs and the obstacles they face. The methodology used was largely qualitative, with in-depth interviews conducted with each of the families. Finally, the results show very complicated family realities, full of uncertainty and suffering health problems among other difficult situations as well as a willingness to move forward.
