La representació del cos patològic a Egon Schiele i Oskar Kokoschka (1900 – 1920)

[cat] A principis del segle XX podem veure un augment en la producció de cossos patològics dins el context de l’expressionisme austríac. En aquest treball mostrarem que això és fruit de la influència que van suposar les publicacions de l’hospital de la Salpêtrière i les visites a hospitals vienesos que van fer tant Schiele com Kokoschka. A més, relacionarem l’aparició d’aquesta estètica patològica amb el context social i cultural de la Viena fin-de-siècle. Els seus habitants sentien fascinació per allò estrany o patològic, donant pas a un mercat artístic interessat en la producció patològica, fet que va permetre que es consolidés aquesta estètica.

[eng] At the beginning of the 20th century, the production of pathological bodies grows, specially in the context of Austrian expressionism. In this essay we will show this is because of the publications provided by la Salpêtrière and the visits in other Viennese hospitals, which influenced the works of Schiele and Kokoschka. We will also show how this new pathological aesthetic is conditioned by the sociocultural context of Vienna. Its inhabitants felt intrigued by the weird and pathological. This led to the appearance of a new art market interested in the pathological production, which also allowed to establish this kind of aesthetic.
