Abstract

[cat] És quasi innegable que a l’actualitat, la Segona Guerra Mundial al Pacífic és veu clarament fosquejada per els esdeveniments ocorreguts al front europeu entre els anys 1939 i 1945. Aquest treball és centra en la reclamació d’importància d’un fet històric transcendental, que a pesar de produir-se al llunyà orient, Espanya juga un paper important. Un treball on la premsa té un paper fonamental i que gràcies a les noticies i publicacions del diari La Vanguardia Espanyola podrem esbrinar quina va ser la percepció espanyola enfront a les actuacions de l’Imperi del Japó durant la Segona Guerra Mundial i com és va evolucionar des de l’atac sorpresa a la base nord-americana de Pearl Harbor fins la rendició incondicional de l’Imperi del Japó a causa del bombardeig nuclear a les ciutats de Hiroshima i Nagasaki a l’estiu de 1945.

[eng] It is almost undeniable that today, the Second Pacific War is clearly overshadowed by the events that took place on the European front between 1939 and 1945. This work focuses on the claim of importance of a transcendental historical fact, which despite occurring in the Far East, Spain plays an important role. A work where the press have a key role and thanks to the news and publications of the newspaper La Vanguardia Espanyola we can find out what was the Spanish perception of the actions of the Empire of Japan during World War II and how it evolved from the surprise attack on the American base at Pearl Harbor to the unconditional surrender of the Empire of Japan due to the nuclear bombing of the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in the summer of 1945.
