Determinació de cronotips en el raor, Xyrichthys Novacua

[cat] L'estudi de la personalitat en animals presenta un creixent interès en l'última dècada. La determinació de la personalitat es realitza mitjançant el concepte de repetibilitat i, en el cas dels peixos, quan es parla de personalitat s’atribueixen dos trets clarament marcats: els subjectes proactius que són aquells que creen noves rutes i es troben en constant estat exploratori de l'entorn; i els peixos reactius que són més passius i no afronten episodis d'exploració i lluita. Entre els patrons que defineixen la personalitat cal destacar el cronotip i, per això, es va intentar definir diferents cronotips a 36 exemplars (♂ = 22) de Xyrichtys novacula en medi natural, una espècie d'alt valor comercial. Es va determinar l’Onset, Offset i Centre de Gravetat, així com els principals paràmetres circadians a partir de l'activitat motora enregistrada en aquesta espècie a la reserva marítima de la Badia de Palma (Mallorca), durant el període prereproductor (maig) i reproductor (juliol). Del total d'exemplars, en els dos períodes inclosos en aquest treball un 19% va presentar un avanç de l'activitat (≈ 25,7 minuts) respecte a la mitjana, mentre que un 22% dels exemplars va presentar un retard (≈ 87,98 minuts) en el seu inici d'activitat. El període reproductiu va presentar diferències significatives respecte a l'Onset, Offset i Centre de Gravetat (p <0,001) pel que fa a el període prereproductiu, mostrant un retard de l'activitat. Envers a les variables circadiàries, les femelles van presentar majors valors de mesor i amplitud en comparació als macles (p <0,001) tant en el període prereproductor com en el reproductor. Amb aquests resultats és possible diferenciar per primera vegada diferents cronotipos a peixos en medi natural, amb les repercussions que això pot tenir no només en l'estudi de la seva fisiologia sinó també en l'àmbit d'explotació de recursos pesquers.

[eng] The study of personality in animals has shown a growing interest in the last decade. The determination of personality is carried out through the concept of repeatability and, in the case of fish, when talking about personality, two clearly marked traits are attributed: proactive subjects who are those who create new routes and are in a constant state of exploration of the environment; and reactive fish that are more passive and do not face exploration and fighting episodes. Among the patterns that define the personality, the chronotype should be highlighted and, therefore, an attempt was made to define different chronotypes in 36 specimens (♂ = 22) of Xyrichthys novacula in the wild, a species of high commercial value. The Onset, Offset and Center of Gravity were determined, as well as the main circadian parameters from the motor activity recorded in this species in the maritime reserve of the Bay of Palma (Mallorca), during the pre-reproductive period (May) and reproductive period ( July). Of the total number of specimens, in the two periods studied, 19% presented an advance in activity (≈ 25,7 minuts) with respect to the average, while 22% of the specimens presented a delay retard (≈ 87,98 minuts) at the onset of activity. The reproductive period showed significant differences in terms of Onset, Offset and Center of Gravity (p <0.001) respect to the pre-reproductive period, showing a delay in activity. Regarding the circadian variables, females presented higher values of mesor and amplitude with respect to males (p <0.001) both in the pre-reproductive period and in the reproductive period. With these results it is possible to differentiate for the first time different chronotypes in fish in a natural environment, with the repercussions that this may have not only in the study of their physiology but also in the field of exploitation of fishing resources.
