El coste de mantener cerrado un hotel durante la Covid-19

Abstract

[esp] En este trabajo se ha realizado una investigación sobre el coste económico del cierre de un hotel representativo, derivado de la pandemia del COVID-19, y la importancia de ello para observar la viabilidad financiera que puede afectar a muchas empresas y cómo consecuencia a un destino turístico. En nuestro caso hemos escogido las Islas Baleares y lo hemos aplicado en específico a la zona de Magalluf. Con la finalidad de llevar a cabo la investigación, se han utilizado datos reales de una empresa del sector con dichas características siendo este el más representativo de la zona investigada. Durante el trabajo se analizan costes operativos, costes fijos, y su comparación con un año ordinario, para el cual se ha calculado algunos costes totales por habitación y día, para poder así extrapolar estos datos a las pérdidas del turismo como única fuente de ingreso de dicho municipio.

[eng] In this work, an investigation has been carried out on the economic cost of closing a representative hotel, derived from the COVID-19 pandemic, and the importance of it to observe the financial viability that can affect many companies and consequently a tourist destination. In our case we have chosen the Balearic Islands and we have applied it specifically to the area of Magalluf. To carry out the investigation, real data from a company in the sector with these characteristics has been used, being the most representative of the analyzed area. During the study, operating costs, fixed costs, and their comparison with an ordinary year have been analyzed, for which some total costs per room and day have been calculated, to be able to extrapolate these data to the losses from tourism as it is the only source of income of the area.
