Análisis de la tendencia y la estacionalidad de la población activa (EPA) del sector turístico. Diferencias entre hombres y mujeres

[spa] El turismo de las Islas Baleares ha experimentado una evolución durante los años, y tal es la importancia de dicho sector que ha llegado a ser uno de los principales motores económicos. Además, a cambiado a la sociedad balear en su forma de entender la vida, pero también ha ido cambiando y transformando el hábitat natural. Actualmente, es uno de los sectores más afectados directa o indirectamente por la crisis del Covid-19. En este trabajo hemos llevado a cabo un estudio de la población activa en el sector turístico, en el período comprendido entre el 2008 hasta el 2020. Para poder realizar un mejor análisis, hemos contextualizado un breve repaso de la historia del turismo, su evolución y características, y el papel de la mujer en dicho sector. Este informe trata de exponer las diferencias de género que existen en la población activa del sector turístico de las Islas Baleares, ofreciendo un análisis detallado hacia donde va su tendencia, la estacionalidad marcada en el sector en ambos sexos y una extrapolación a futuro si la pandemia no hubiera aparecido. Finalmente, las conclusiones obtenidas del estudio sobre las diferencias entre mujeres y hombres en el sector turístico de las islas.

[eng] Tourism in the Balearic Islands has undergone an evolution over the years, and such is the importance of this sector that it has become one of the main economic engines. In addition, it has changed Balearic society in its way of understanding life, but it has also been changing and transforming the natural habitat. Currently, it is one of the sectors most affected directly or indirectly by the Covid-19 crisis. In this work we have carried out a study of the active population in the tourism sector, in the period from 2008 to 2020. In order to carry out a better analysis, we have contextualized a brief review of the history of tourism, its evolution and characteristics, and role of women in this sector. This report tries to expose the gender differences that exist in the active population of the tourism sector of Balearic Islands, offering a detailed analysis of where its tendency is going, the seasonality marked in the sector in both sexes and an extrapolation to the future if the pandemic would not have appeared. Finally, the conclusions obtained from the study on the differences between women and men in the tourism sector of the islands.
