Construcción de un índice de estrés financiero para España

[spa] Un Índice de Condiciones Financieras (ICF), o también denominado Índice de Estrés Financiero (IEF), es un indicador que permite obtener información financiera de un país de manera que se puedan identificar periodo de estrés, como su propio nombre indica, que puedan llegar a afectar a las condiciones financieras y económicas de un país. En este trabajo se construirá y se realizará un posterior análisis del Índice de Condiciones Financieras para España que comprenderá los periodos desde enero de 2001 hasta diciembre de 2020. Con la finalidad de obtener este indicador que nos permitirá observar el nivel de estabilidad financiera, se han escogido un total de 15 variables financieras obtenidas a partir de distintos criterios y fuentes de información. Para la investigación se ha utilizado el Análisis de los Componentes Principales (ACP), un método que ayudará a explicar el comportamiento de las variables seleccionadas y que será explicado más adelante. Una vez creado el índice, se relacionarán los periodos de estrés obtenidos con hechos históricos económicos que puedan explicar las fluctuaciones del índice a lo largo del periodo seleccionado. Se ha obtenido un índice de condiciones financieras donde se pueden observar seis periodos de estrés: agosto 2001 hasta marzo 2002, abril 2003 hasta enero 2004, noviembre 2007 hasta noviembre 2008, agosto 2014 hasta diciembre 2014, agosto 2017 hasta enero 2017 y marzo 2020 hasta diciembre 2020. Al observar estos episodios de estrés se concluye que algunos episodios sí coinciden con problemas económicos que pertenecen a España, pero también se puede observar que ha habido influencia de sucesos internacionales por lo que nuestro índice se ha podido ver influenciado por ello.

An index of financial conditions has been obtained where six stress periods can be observed: August 2001 to March 2002, April 2003 to January 2004, November 2007 to November 2008, August 2014 to December 2014, August 2017 to January 2017 and March 2020 to December 2020. When observing these stress episodes it can be concluded that some episodes do coincide with economic problems that pertain to Spain, but it can also be observed that there has been influence of international events so that our index could have been influenced by it.
