El impacto del turismo en la generación de residuos sólidos urbanos en la isla de Mallorca

[spa] La finalidad de este trabajo es analizar el impacto del turismo en la generación de residuos urbanos utilizando el caso de estudio de la isla de Mallorca. Primero, se ha investigado la relación entre el turismo y la generación de residuos en los distintos municipios de la isla. Posteriormente, se ha realizado un estudio a través de regresiones simples con las variables de los distintos residuos urbanos y la intensidad turística, observando que para algunas tipologías de residuos urbanos, la intensidad turística aparece como variable significativa confirmando así la hipótesis que la actividad turística es un determinante de la generación de residuos per cápita.

[eng] The aim of this work is to analyze the impact of tourism on the generation of urban waste using the case study of the island of Mallorca. First, the relationship between tourism and waste generation in the different municipalities of the island has been investigated. Subsequently, a study has been carried out through simple regressions with the variables of the different urban waste and the tourist intensity, observing that for some types of urban waste, the tourist intensity, observing that for some types of urban waste, the tourist intensity appears as a significant variable, thus confirming the hypothesis that the tourist activity is a determinant of per capita waste generation.
