La guitarra eléctrica en Mallorca y sus constructores

Abstract

[spa] El presente trabajo pretende dar a conocer los diferentes estilos constructivos de guitarra eléctrica llevados a cabo en Mallorca, haciendo un acopio de los principales constructores afincados en la isla y teniendo en cuenta los materiales utilizados, épocas de realización, escuelas y métodos de construcción. La amplia y rápida expansión de las escuelas de lutería y la facilidad de obtención de materiales constructivos, han hecho que la construcción de una guitarra se pueda llevar a cabo desde unos conocimientos básicos de marquetería y carpintería. Dentro del panorama Balear se han realizado estudios sobre la historia de la guitarra y catalogado diferentes constructores de todas las épocas, pero desde un ámbito clásico, constructores que han sido reconocidos por su labor en el ámbito de la guitarra de concierto. Debido al incremento de artesanos que han dirigido su atención hacia los instrumentos eléctricos o acústicos y la creciente afición de músicos por la música rock, jazz y pop, es de necesidad el crear un estudio que recopile el trabajo realizado por estos constructores, haciendo referencia a las particularidades de su labor. El estudio comprende la revisión histórica del instrumento, pasando por las distintas evoluciones de la guitarra, hasta llegar a la forma actual de la guitarra eléctrica, indagando en los tipos de construcción más novedosos llevados a cabo por los diferentes constructores actuales.

[eng] The intention of this work is to make known the different styles of electrical guitar's construction, listing the main guitar's makers of the Island, detailing the materials they used, the eras, the schools and methods of construction. The wide and rapid growing of guitar's making schools and the facilitation in getting the building materials, allowed to build a guitar from basic knowledge of marquetry and carpentry. From decades in Balearic Island, were maid researchers about history of the guitar and catalogued different builders of all eras, but from a classical music point of view, builders who have been recognized for them work in the field of guitar's concert. Due to the increase of artisans who have turned their attention to electric or acoustic instruments and the growing of interest in rock, jazz and pop music, it is necessary to create a study that collects the work done by these builders, mentining the peculiarity of them job. This study includes the instrument historical review, going through the different guittar's evolutions, to the current shape of the electric guitar, exploring the newest types of construction made by the different builders today.
