Sostenibilidad medioambiental en hoteles familiares - Un análisis cualitativo del Hotel "Ten Mallorca" en Mallorca

[spa] La sostenibilidad es un concepto que cada día gana más relevancia en nuestro mundo globalizado y por eso también en el sector turístico, sobre todo en la hostelería. Debido a las circunstancias de que muchos hoteles son de gestión y propiedad familiar este trabajo trata la cuestión de cómo hoteles familiares pueden actuar de manera sostenible referente al medioambiente y a qué ventajas o desventajas se enfrentan. No sólo se analiza el compromiso general sino también la gestión de agua, energía y residuos por su sostenibilidad para mostrar posibles medidas y esfuerzos de una manera práctica. Como parte principal de este trabajo será investigado el hotel familiar “Ten Mallorca” en Mallorca como caso real. El hotel tiene un gran compromiso a la sostenibilidad ya que muestra muchos esfuerzos en sus operaciones diarias tanto de forma tecnológica como su comportamiento para minimizar su impacto medioambiental. Sin embargo, se enfrenta a algunos desafíos como restricciones políticas y la pandemia de COVID-19. Este análisis muestra que la combinación de la empresa familiar y la sostenibilidad en un hotel puede funcionar de una manera eficiente y bien hecha. Conclusiones destacan que hay más potencial de analizar hoteles familiares en el futuro.

[eng] Sustainability is a concept that is gaining more and more relevance in our globalised world and therefore also in the tourism sector, especially in the hotel industry. Due to the fact that many hotels are family-run and family-owned, this paper deals with the question of how family-run hotels can act in an environmentally sustainable way and what advantages or disadvantages they face. Not only the general commitment but also water, energy and waste management are analysed for their sustainability in order to show possible measures and efforts in a practical way. As a main part of this work, the family hotel "Ten Mallorca" in Mallorca will be investigated as a real case. The hotel has a strong commitment to sustainability as it shows a lot of efforts in its daily operations both technologically and behaviourally to minimise its environmental impact. However, it faces some challenges such as political restrictions and the COVID-19 pandemic. This analysis shows that the combination of family business and sustainability in a hotel can work in an efficient and well-done way. Conclusions highlight that there is more potential to analyse family hotels in the future.
