Business Plan: Hotel Fonoll

Abstract

[eng] This thesis aims to test the feasibility of setting up a hotel in Fornalutx, Mallorca. To make this possible, a typical Mallorcan estate in good condition will be acquired, and a small refurbishment will be carried out. The estate will therefore be modified to the demands of the client while maintaining its identity. Throughout the thesis, the processes, and operations that have been established to guarantee the correct management of the business and to satisfy the needs and expectations of the customers are presented. To carry out the feasibility analysis, two different study approaches have been adopted. On the one hand, the market environment and consumer analysis have been analysed to clarify whether there is room for introducing this project. At the same time, a five-year economic and financial plan was drawn up to check whether the project is profitable in the long term. After a thorough analysis of the results obtained, it is recommended not to carry out the project. Despite being an attractive business, it is not viable in economic and profitability terms.

[spa] Esta tesis pretende comprobar la viabilidad de la creación de un hotel en Fornalutx, Mallorca. Para ello se adquirirá una finca típica mallorquina en buen estado y se realizará una pequeña reforma. La finca, por tanto, se modificará a las exigencias del cliente manteniendo su identidad. A lo largo de la tesis se presentan los procesos, y operaciones que se han establecido para garantizar la correcta gestión del negocio y satisfacer las necesidades y expectativas de los clientes. Para llevar a cabo el análisis de viabilidad, se han adoptado dos enfoques de estudio diferentes. Por un lado, se ha analizado el entorno del mercado y el análisis de los consumidores para dilucidar si hay margen para introducir este proyecto. Por otro lado, se ha elaborado un plan económico y financiero a cinco años para comprobar si el proyecto es rentable a largo plazo. Tras un análisis exhaustivo de los resultados obtenidos, se recomienda no llevar a cabo el proyecto. A pesar de ser un negocio atractivo, no es viable en términos económicos y de rentabilidad.
