El Desembarcament de Bayo a Mallorca: Dues visions Oposades

[cat] En aquest estudi, s’analitza la diferència entre dos relats elaborats sobre l’expedició del Capità Alberto Bayo a Mallorca el 1936. Es posarà el focus en les publicacions del diari català La Vanguardia i es compararan amb les inèdites memòries del milicià que participà en la campanya Albert Sadurní. En aquesta comparació es trobaran immenses diferències fruit de l’autoria i la voluntat rere de l’elaboració del relat. A La Vanguardia trobarem un discurs propagandístic i manipulat, molt allunyat de la realitat mostrada per les vivències del diari de Sadurní. Per a la comprensió dels fets narrats per les dues fonts, es farà un breu resum sobre els fets causals de l’expedició. La comprensió del aixecament “nacional” a Mallorca i Barcelona, la situació política i social a la ciutat comtal serà clau per a comprendre els fets succeïts a Mallorca la segona meitat d’agost i el principi de setembre del 1936. A més, es durà a terme una revisió sobre l’estat de la qüestió per a situar els dos relats dins el que es coneix a nivell historiogràfic.

[eng] This study analyses the difference between two accounts of Captain Alberto Bayo’s expedition in Mallorca in 1936. It focuses on the publications of Catalan leading newspaper La Vanguardia and compares them with the unpublished memoirs of militiaman Albert Sadurni who took an active part in the campaign. In this comparison, we find immense differences resulting from the authorship and will behind the account. In La Vanguardia, we find a propagandistic and manipulated discourse, far from the reality shown by the experiences of Sadurni’s diary. To properly understand the events narrated by the sources, a summary will be made of the causes of the expedition. The understanding of the “national” uprising in Mallorca and Barcelona, as of the socio-political scene in the Catalan city will be crucial to comprehend the events that took place in Mallorca in the second half of August and the beginning of September 1936. In addition, a review will be made of the state of the art to situate the two accounts in the historiographical knowledge of the events.
