Història d'una frustració. Evolució històrica del Celler Cooperatiu de Felanitx (1919-1991)

[cat] El segle XIX suposà un abans i un després per la indústria vinícola. Mallorca es beneficià de la desfeta de les vinyes franceses per la fil·loxera, donant peu a un increment del cultiu de la vinya. L’illa experimentà un creixement econòmic rellevant arrel de l’especulació que es donà en torn al preu del vi. En el 1891 arribà la fil·loxera a Mallorca i un any després el mercat francès tancava les seves portes a les exportacions espanyoles, causant una nova crisi. Dins aquest context, el cas de Felanitx serà el més destacable, ja que la seva economia depenia quasi exclusivament d’aquesta indústria. La recuperació de la vinya mallorquina vingué de la mà de l’Estació Enològica de Felanitx. Aquí es germinà la idea de la creació d’un Celler Cooperatiu que aglutinés tots aquests productors de raïm que no tenien capital suficient com per produir vi o per competir dins el mercat. El Celler Cooperatiu de Felanitx funcionà al llarg de 72 anys sent el precursor del cooperativisme vinícola mallorquí. Aquest estudi es centra en l’anàlisi del seu funcionament i gestió econòmica, i de tots els factors que propiciaren el seu final. Tancà les seves portes l’any 1991 perquè feu fallida en un final amb més ombres que llums.

[eng] The XIX century became a milestone for the wine industry. Mallorca benefited from the destruction of French vineyards due to the phylloxera, giving rise to an increase of the cultivation of vines. The island experienced a significant economic growth due to the speculation around the wine prices. In 1891, the phylloxera plague arrived in Mallorca and one year after the French market closed its doors to the Spanish exports, leading to a new crisis. In this contect, the Felanitx case will be the most remarkable, since its economy depended almost exclusively on this industry. The recovery of the Mallorcan vineyards came along the Felanitx Oenologic Station. Here sprouted the idea of the creation of a Cooperative Cellar that could unite all wine producers that did not have enough capital for producing wine or to compete in the market. The Felanitx Cooperative Cellar operated during 72 years, being the precursor of wine cooperativism in Mallorca. This study focuses on the analysis of its functioning and economic management, and all the factors that propitiated its end. It closed its doors in 1991 because it went bankrupt, in a final with more shadows than lights.
