Comparativa entre la industria turística de Mallorca y República Dominicana: alternativas más sostenibles

[spa] Mallorca y República Dominicana difieren en muchos ámbitos, empezando por el factor geográfico, sin embargo, desde el punto de vista turístico tienen muchos nexos de conexión. Ambos territorios comparten la presencia de empresas internacionales, algunas de origen Balear; además de que el turismo de sol y playa sea la actividad económica principal y de que hayan sufrido un fuerte crecimiento en los macro complejos hoteleros del estilo resort y todo incluido. La expansión turística de este tipo de alojamientos se ha producido de una forma demasiado rápida y brusca provocando un fuerte impacto en los ecosistemas naturales de ambas áreas. Este trabajo ofrece una comparativa entre Mallorca y República Dominicana, analizando los establecimientos todo incluido actualmente en uso, sus consecuencias y beneficios. Por último, presenta un compendio de alternativas sostenibles con el objetivo de mitigar los efectos nocivos sobre el medio ambiente de este tipo de turismo.

[eng] Mallorca and the Dominican Republic are in many ways disparate, located in different hemispheres. However, from a tourist point of view they are closely connected. Both territories share the presence of international companies, some of them from Balearic origin. In addition, sun and beach tourism is the main activity and that they have both experienced the growth all-inclusive macro hotel complexes. The tourist expansion of this type of accommodation has occurred too quickly and abruptly, causing a huge impact on the natural ecosystems of both areas. This paper offers a comparison between Mallorca and the Dominican Republic, analysing the all-inclusive establishments, their consequences, and benefits. Finally, it presents a compendium of sustainable alternatives with the aim of mitigating the harmful effects on the environment of this type of tourism
