Naturaleza humana y pasiones en El Príncipe de Maquiavelo

[spa] El propósito de este trabajo es investigar cómo son las pasiones y naturaleza humana consideradas en El Príncipe de Maquiavelo. Se defiende, contra las interpretaciones predominantes que caracterizan la visión de Maquiavelo como pesimista o optimista, que el autor sostiene una imagen realista de la naturaleza y pasiones humanas, sin ningún tipo de juicio o valoración moral. La metodología propuesta consiste en un comentario de aquellos capítulos de El Príncipe más relevantes para la cuestión, con la inclusión de las interpretaciones de otros autores mediante notas a pie de página. Después de dicho análisis, se concluye que una visión realista de la naturaleza y pasiones humanas es la más coherente con la concepción de la historia y la política que mantiene el autor, así como con su visión práctica y empírica del mundo.

[eng] The purpose of this project is to investigate how are the passions and the human nature considered in The Prince of Machiavelli. It is argued, against the prevailing interpretations that characterize Machiavelli's vision as pessimistic or optimistic, that the author maintains a realistic image of human nature and passions, without any type of judgment or moral evaluation. The methodology consists of a commentary on those chapters of The Prince that are most relevant to the issue, with the inclusion of the interpretations of other authors through footnotes. After this analysis, it is concluded that a realistic vision of the human nature and passions is the most consistent with the author's conception of history and politics, as well as with his practical and empirical vision of the world.
