La representación de la mujer moderna finisecular a través del cartelismo catalán

Abstract

[spa] El presente estudio aborda el modo en el que el cartelismo modernista catalán refleja el nuevo modelo de mujer moderna, fruto de los cambios sociales, políticos y culturales de final del siglo XIX. El cambio de siglo conllevó una serie de transformaciones en el papel social de la mujer de que la llevarán a luchar por su emancipación, por tener una educación y por el derecho a voto. Teniendo en cuenta las diferentes tipologías de carteles según el producto a anunciar, planteo una división de obras en las que vemos plasmada la nueva condición social de la mujer a través de diferentes actividades.

[eng] This study addresses the way in which Catalan modernist poster art reflects the new model of the modern woman, the result of the social, political and cultural changes of the end of the 19th century. The turn of the century brought with it a series of transformations in the social role of women that led them to fight for their emancipation, education and the right to vote. Considering the different typologies of posters according to the product to be advertised, I propose a division of works in which we can see the new social status of women through different activities.
