Prevalença del trastorn d’estrès posttraumàtic i la seva associació amb diversos tipus de trauma a dones en context de prostitució

[cat] L’exercici de la prostitució va lligat a un emprobriment de la salut mental, destacant-hi la presència del trastorn d’estrès posttraumàtic (TEP). Els objectius de l’estudi varen ser, (a) conèixer la prevalença del TEP en una mostra de dones en context de prostitució (b) explorar si el TEP té l’origen en l’exercici de la prostitució o en un altre context, i (c) avaluar la presència de simptomatologia ansiosodepressiva. Trenta dones en context de prostitució varen ser avaluades per determinar-hi la presència de TEP, mitjançant entrevista diagnòstica estructurada, l'exposició a esdeveniments potencialment traumàtics i per detectar els nivells de simptomatologia ansiosodepressiva amb autoinformes de cribratge. Totes les participants han estat exposades, com a mínim, a un potencial trauma. Un 36,7% de la mostra complia els criteris per al diagnòstic del TEP en el moment de l'avaluació i un 33,3% els havia complit en el passat, la qual cosa dona una prevalença global del 70%. Un 73,3% de les participants superaven el punt de tall dels instruments de cribratge com per considerar-les possibles casos de trastorn d’ansietat i un 76,7% ho feien per a un trastorn depressiu, que en aquest darrer cas afectava més les dones amb TEP. Destaca, a banda de l’elevada prevalença del TEP i de possibles trastorns ansiosodepressius, que els traumes que poden haver portat al diagnòstic no estan, la majoria de vegades, directament relacionats amb l'exercici de la prostitució.

[eng] The practice of prostitution is linked to deterioration in mental health, standing out posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The aims of the present study were: (a) to find out the prevalence of PTSD in a sample of women involved in prostitution (b) to explore its association with the practicing of prostitution, and (c) to evaluate the presence of anxiousdepressive symptomatology. Thirty women in context of prostitution were assessed to determine the presence of PTSD diagnosis, through a structured diagnostic interview, exposure to potentially traumatic events and to detect symptoms of anxiety or depression, through self-reported screening scales. All participants have been exposed to, at least, one potentially traumatic event. 36.7% of the sample met criteria for the diagnosis of PTSD at the time of the assessment and 33.3% met them in the past, placing the overall prevalence at 70%. 73.3% of the sample exceeded the cut-off point for symptoms of anxiety and 76.7% for symptoms of depression, finding that participants with PTSD had more symptoms of depression. Besides the high prevalence of PTSD and possible anxiety and depression diagnosis, it highlights that generally it is not directly associated with the practice of prostitution.
