El Expositor Eucarístico en el retablo barroco de Palma. Historia, uso litúrgico y puesta en valor patrimonial.

Abstract

[spa] El expositor eucarístico es a menudo considerado una pieza de importancia secundaria. A pesar de protagonizar la parte central del altar y/o del retablo mayor de muchos templos, mayormente no se le ha dedicado la atención que merece. Así sucede en el caso de Mallorca. En este trabajo pretendemos traer a primer plano los expositores que pueblan los retablos barrocos de Palma, identificando su propia historia, su vinculación con el retablo y edificio que lo alberga, además de conocer su uso histórico y estado actual.

[eng] The Eucharistic exhibitor is often considered a piece of secondary importance. Despite starring in the central part of the altar and/or altarpiece major of many temples, he has mostly not been given the attention he deserves. This is the case with Majorca. In this work we aim to bring to the fore the exhibitors who populate the Baroque altarpieces of Palma, identifying their own history, their link with the altarpiece and building that hosts it, as well as knowing its historical use and current state.
