dc.description.abstract [eng] Worker’s engagement in the hospitality sector is very important because it can be the reason to give a great service to the client, or to give a bad one. Both companies and the public sector need to take work engagement into account that companies that have workers that are satisfied and engaged at their jobs in the long run, have higher success. This study will try to adequate work engagement index in the hospitality sector as well as to understand the factors that lead to a higher work engagement and satisfaction, and therefore to a competitive advantage in the hotel sector in Mallorca. A univariate analysis between a Work Engagement Scale Index and some socio demographic variables, and a regression model are performed to check the nature of the independent variables and how they affect the work engagement. ca
