Historia i difusió de les Big Bands a l'illa de Mallorca

Abstract

[cat] Voler redactar la història de les Big Bands a l'illa de Mallorca i difondre les formacions, els directors i els músics que hi tocaren és l'objectiu d'aquest treball que neix per la manca d'informació, estudis i publicacions. Com consideraven que era necessari ampliar el patrimoni històric musical amb la incorporació d’aquestes formacions hem contat la història de la primera nascuda a Mallorca, la Palma Jazz Big Band. Hem fet la recerca començant per la Glissando Big Band, la més coetània, passant per totes aquelles existents que han desaparegut i les que s'han format esporàdicament. La manca d'estudis especialitzats, la manca de documents gràfics i audiovisuals, el desconeixement social i acadèmic ha fet que la recerca hagi estat molt dificultosa. No obstant, amb el testimoniatge dels seus directors i músics teniu a les mans el primer recull de la primera de les històries de les Big Bands a Mallorca.

[eng] Wanting to write Big Bands history on the island of Mallorca and transmitting the formations, the directors and the musicians who played and been part of them is the goal of this Bachelor’s Thesis which was originated due to the lack of information, studies and publications. As I considered necessary to expand the historical musical heritage with the addition of these formations, I have narrated the history of the first Big Band originated in Mallorca: the Palma Jazz Big Band. I have done this research starting with the Glissando Big Band, the most contemporary, going through all the ones that existed and have disappeared, and those ones that have sporadically formed. The lack of specialized studies, graphic and audiovisual documents, and the lack of social and academic knowledge have turned this research into an arduous task. However, thanks to the testimony of its directors and musicians, you have in your hands the first compilation of the first of the Big Bands histories in Mallorca.
