Awareness and willigness to confront climate change in Europe

Abstract

[eng] Many studies have been carried out since the first summit in 1972 about climate change, manifesting that the earth is suffering due to the activity of humankind since the first industrial revolution. All these studies reach to the conclusion that something needs to be done, else the planet we live in will become sooner or later inhabitable, consuming all resources and increasing earth’s temperature. Using a survey from year 2020 conducted worldwide, this paper analyses whether European citizens are aware of climate change and their predisposition to take part in fighting climate change.

[spa] Se han realizado muchos estudios desde la primera cumbre en 1972 sobre el cambio climático, manifestando que la tierra está sufriendo debido a la actividad humana desde la primera revolución industrial. Todos estos estudios llevan a la conclusión de que hay que hacer algo, de lo contrario el planeta en el que vivimos tarde o temprano se volverá inhabitable, consumiendo todos los recursos y aumentando la temperatura de la tierra. Utilizando una encuesta del año 2020 realizada en todo el mundo, esta tesis analiza si los ciudadanos europeos son conscientes del cambio climático y su predisposición a participar en la lucha contra el cambio climático.
