[spa] La intermediación existe en todos los ámbitos económicos y siendo el turismo una actividad tan importante en la economía española y balear resulta de vital que su definición sea exacta. Cabe destacar que los ingresos derivados del turismo en España han posibilitado mantener un superávit en la cuenta de servicios en la balanza de pagos, por tanto, fomentar su crecimiento sostenible ha de ser tarea primordial. El rápido crecimiento de esta industria en el territorio de las Islas Baleares ha suscitado las preocupaciones en cuestiones como el turismo de masas, la pérdida de la calidad medioambiental, así como el impacto en la legalidad y la comunidad local. Para hacer frente a estas problemáticas los gobiernos comunitarios han puesto en marcha diversos reglamentos y normativas a cumplimentar para tener bajo control áreas como la concesión de licencias, los derechos de los consumidores y la preservación del equilibrio entre agentes turísticos. Este equilibrio no siempre se consigue o se mantiene durante el tiempo por lo que el constante avance y revisión en la legalidad es de máxima importancia si se quiere lograr los objetivos marcados, consiguiendo una industria turística en armonía.

[eng] Intermediation exists in all economic spheres, and since tourism is such an important activity in the Spanish and Balearic economy, it is vital that its definition be accurate. It is worth noting that the income derived from tourism in Spain has made it possible to maintain a surplus in the services account in the balance of payments, therefore, promoting its sustainable growth must be an essential task. The rapid growth of this industry in the Balearic Islands has raised concerns about issues such as mass tourism, loss of environmental quality, as well as the impact on legality and the local community. In order to address these issues, EU governments have put in place various regulations and standards to control areas such as licensing, consumer rights and the preservation of the balance between tourism stakeholders. This balance is not always achieved or maintained over time, which is why constant progress and revision of the law is of the utmost importance if the objectives set are to be achieved, resulting in a harmonious tourism industry
