[eng] Companies have a key role in the growing concerns about natural environmental degradation and promoting sustainable practices. Consequently, they are under increasing pressures to operate in an environmentally responsible manner. To respond to this challenge, companies can either adopt a reactive approach by simply adhering to environmental regulations or take a more proactive stance by developing their own sustainable practices that have a positive impact on the natural environment. In this paper, we explain the corporate sustainability and the company’s proactivity levels and its determinant factors. We also discuss the negative impacts of the hotel industry, the sustainable practices that the hotels can implement, and the benefits of the implementation of sustainable practices. Then, we will analyze the corporate sustainability of Iberostar Cala Domingos. |
