El creixement demogràfic Balear: una aproximació econòmica

Abstract

[cat] En aquest estudi s’investiguen les raons per les que la població balear s’ha incrementat al llarg dels segles XX i XXI. La nostra hipòtesi es que aquest increment es causat casi exclusivament per les arribades d’immigrants que hi ha a l’arxipèlag. Concretament les arribades d’estrangers de països pobres que cerquen feina i l’obtenen en forma de treballs mal pagats i de baixa qualificació. Aquestes arribades també estan motivades per la gran creació d’ocupació per la que destaquen les illes. Per a poder confirmar les nostres hipòtesis i valent-nos de les dades ofertes per distints òrgans estadístics, hem obtingut les correlacions entre la immigració i diverses variables laborals. Paral·lelament, hem investigat quins son els perfils dels immigrants i els emigrants de l’arxipèlag i com es veuen influenciats per el mercat laboral. Els nostres resultats ens confirmen que els fluxos migratoris de les Balears es veuen influenciats per la situació de la economia i el mercat de treball. A més a més d’obtenir quins son els perfils dels migrants.

[eng] This study investigates the reasons why the Balearic population has increased throughout the 20th and 21st centuries. Our hypothesis is that this increase is caused almost exclusively by the arrival of immigrants in the archipelago. Specifically, the arrival of foreigners from poor countries who are looking for work and get it in the form of poorly paid and low-skilled jobs. These arrivals are also motivated by the great job creation for which the islands stand out. In order to be able to confirm our hypotheses and take courage from the data offered by different statistical institutions, we have obtained the correlations between immigration and various labor variables. At the same time, we investigated the profiles of the archipelago's immigrants and emigrants and how they are influenced by the labor market.
