Análisis de desarrollo turístico en Baleares

Abstract

[spa] La economía Balear ha experimentado un fuerte crecimiento al inicio de su rápida expansión. Aunque este crecimiento no se encuentra exento de repercusiones negativas durante el ciclo de su vida. El presente trabajo repasa los “boom” turísticos y eventos históricos más recientes en las Islas Baleares y hace una mención especial a las desventajas a largo plazo que las comunidades con elevada especialización turística puedan experimentar en su economía desde los principales indicadores económicos. De este modo, se enfatiza la ralentización sobre el crecimiento económico, la pérdida de productividad del modelo turístico y la escasa dotación del capital humano mediante el análisis temporal de los datos estadísticos acompañado de un marco teórico.

[eng] The economy of the Balearic Islands has experienced a strong growth at the beginning of its rapid expansion. However, this growth is not exempt of negative repercussions during its life cycle. This paper reviews the most recent tourism booms and historical events in the Balearic Islands and makes special mention of the long-term disadvantages that communities with high tourism specialization may experience in their economy from the main economic indicators. In this way, the slowdown in economic growth, the loss of productivity of the tourism model and the low human capital endowment are emphasized through the temporal analysis of statistical data accompanied by a theoretical framework.
