La maternidad: una decisión libre

Abstract

[spa] La decisión de ser madre, y a su vez, todas esas cuestiones que la envuelven con supuestas respuestas tan arraigadas a la intimidad surgen de preguntarse hasta que límite llega el instinto y donde empieza lo cultural, lo social. ¿Hasta qué punto ser madre debe darnos sentido a nuestra vida como mujeres? Para profundizar en ello, hablaremos desde procesos tan expansivos como la socialización diferencial que ocurre en nuestra sociedad entre hombres y mujeres y como se construye la identidad femenina en base a la maternidad. Desde el feminismo, se abarcarán diversas tendencias alternativas a la maternidad hegemónica, para dar a conocer distintas perspectivas. Por último, se han agregado algunas aportaciones al cuidado de la mujer desde una misma para ensalzar la importancia del autocuidado, en relación con la maternidad.

[eng] The decision to be a mother, and in the same vein, all these questions surrounding her with supposed answers that are so deeply rooted in privacy, arise from the question of the extent to which instinct reaches and where culture, society, begins. To what extent should being a mother make sense of our life as women? To go into this in more depth, we will be talking about processes as expansive as the differential socialization that happens in our society between men and women and how women's identity is built based on motherhood. Feminism will encompass various alternative tendencies to hegemonic motherhood, to raise awareness of different perspectives. Finally, some contributions have been added to caring for women from within to highlight the importance of self-care, in relation to motherhood.
