El papel de las emociones en la toma de decisiones morales

[spa] El pensamiento filosófico occidental ha catalogado las emociones y los sentimientos como irracionales, como si las emociones y sentimientos surgieran de un lugar diferenciado del que surge el razonamiento. Razón y emoción no pueden separarse. El cuerpo, la mente y el ambiente juegan un papel muy importante en la creación de emociones y sentimientos. El cuerpo permite conocer, en forma de estímulos, los agentes externos; la mente procesa esos estímulos y manda la información tanto al cerebro como al cuerpo para garantizar su supervivencia y, el ambiente, permite que lo neural y físico se manifieste como unidad, descartando la dualidad que ha imperado en el pensamiento filosófico occidental desde las tesis de Descartes. La emoción y el sentimiento permiten al ser humano tomar decisiones racionales y también morales teniendo en cuenta al otro fomentando así, la responsabilidad emocional y afectiva.
