[eng] This work examines the importance of the character of Rocky Balboa as a propaganda object to highlight the country of the United States of America. Through an analysis of the saga, various concepts related to the country that are represented in his character will be demonstrated. Rocky Balboa is a reflection of the American Dream showing an economic and social climb, linked to the meritocracy of his efforts. Additionally, Rocky helps expand the concept of Pax Americana in its fear and war against the Soviet Union, delving into the Cold War that was being experienced at the time. Thus, the analysis of this work will convey to display that the famous Red Scare was still in force when Rocky IV (1985) came out. Likewise, each film will be compared with the presidency that was in force during its publication, thus analyzing possible similarities during its own political context. |
