[spa] En términos generales, la historia en general ha invisibilizado la presencia de las mujeres sistemáticamente, sin que la psicología sea excepción de ello. Las siguientes páginas dan a conocer el contexto histórico que abrazó la vida de dos pioneras de la primera generación de psicólogas: Mary Withon Calkins y Ethel Puffer Howes. Se ahonda en sus vidas y sus obras para darles la visibilidad que merecen y de la cual tanto se las ha privado. A su vez, la lucha de Ethel constituirá el punto clave del trabajo, siendo su vida un reflejo de la problemática que vivían y viven las mujeres para conciliar su vida familiar y profesional.

[eng] History has systematically made the presence of women invisible, with psychology being no exception. The present work provides the historical context that embraced the lives of two pioneers of the first generation of women psychologists: Mary Withon Calkins and Ethel Puffer Howes. It delves into their lives and works to give them the visibility they deserve and of which they have been deprived. In turn, Ethel's fight will be the key point of the work, being her life a reflection of the problems that women lived and still live to reconcile their family and professional life.
