Abstract

[spa] En el presente Trabajo de Fin de Grado explicaremos el impacto que puede tener la violencia en un destino turístico, especialmente en Brasil. Los turistas buscan lugares seguros y atractivos para visitar y, la violencia, puede crear una imagen negativa y disuadir al turista de visitarlo. Por otro lado, explicaremos el turismo de favelas de Brasil, analizando tanto sus aspectos positivos como negativos desde una perspectiva multidimensional. Se explora el contexto histórico y socioeconómico de las favelas, así como las motivaciones y percepciones de turistas y residentes locales. Se abordan desafíos éticos como la estigmatización y la gentrificación, proponiendo recomendaciones para un turismo más ético y sostenible, destacando así la importancia de promover la participación comunitaria y preservar la identidad cultural y el patrimonio ambiental de las favelas.

[eng] In this thesis, we will explain how violence can impact an impression of a tourist destination, especially Brazil. Tourists are looking for safe and attractive places to visit, and violence can create a negative image and deter tourists from visiting. In this thesis, we will explain how violence can change the impression of a tourist destination, mainly focusing on Brazil. Tourists tend to look for tourist destinations that is welcoming and safe to visit and violence can give a negative impression and in effect, deter tourists from visiting. We will also explain about favela tourism in Brazil, analyzing both the positive and negative aspects from a multidimensional perspective. We explore the historical and socio-economic context of favelas, in addition, the motivations and perceptions of tourists and local residents. Ethical challenges such as stigmatization and gentrification are addressed, and recommendations for more ethical and sustainable tourism are proposed, highlighting the importance of promoting community participation and preserving the cultural identity and environmental heritage of favelas.
