dc.description.abstract [eng] Since English is well established as a lingua franca, many initiatives have been undertaken to develop innovative methodologies to facilitate effective language learning. Prominent among these is CLIL (Content Language Integrated Learning), a dual approach to language acquisition in which a content subject is learnt through a foreign language, typically English. This methodology has become increasingly notorious as it does not require additional time in the curriculum and allows for a greater exposure to the language. Therefore, this thesis aims to (i) provide an analysis of the CLIL approach by exploring its implementation in Europe, Spain, and the Balearic Islands as well as to give an overview of the CLIL methodology including the 4Cs framework, the differentiation between Hard and Soft CLIL and the compilation of the main criticisms of this methodology. Ultimately, this thesis aims to (ii) complement the above with the creation of a didactic proposal for an English class in support of the PE subject taught through CLIL methodology. This will be achieved by providing the necessary grammar and vocabulary to develop student’s linguistic competences and maximize their learning in said classes. Moreover, it also aims to debunk the notion of English lessons based only on static learning and within the classroom by creating activities that allow learning in a more active and dynamic environment where kinesthesia and the development of the different multiple intelligences are promoted en
