[eng] Understanding the impact of increasing temperatures on outbound tourism in Spain is crucial to
examine implications of climate change on travel behaviour. Spain is a country which has been
significantly affected by climate change. As a global temperature increases individuals have a
tendency to look for strategies to reduce their discomfort. In the following pages, we examine if
they adjust their travel behaviours and prefer to leave from their regions when temperature
elevates. Using regression analysis, we investigate environmental, economic, temporal, and
geographical factors affecting these travel decisions with special interest in climatic determinants.
Information and data that we managed to gather for the purpose of this study can assist tourism
stakeholders and policymakers, and will hopefully contribute to a deeper understanding of climate
change’s effects on travel behaviour.
