¿Cuál es el impacto que producen los factores biopsicosociales en la salud de la madre y cómo afectan a la duración de la lactancia materna?

[spa] Se ha extendido la creencia de que la lactancia materna, por ser un proceso natural, es algo sencillo, pero la realidad no es esta, por ello el objetivo de este trabajo es dar a conocer el impacto que tienen los diferentes factores físicos, psicológicos y sociales en la madre durante esta práctica y cómo influyen estos en la duración de la misma. Para resolver dicho objetivo se realizó una búsqueda bibliográfica en diferentes bases de como Pubmed y Cinahl, utilizando descriptores y palabras clave tales como “Breast feeding”, “Duration”, “Psychosocial Impact” y “Mothers”. De los resultados de las búsquedas y tras una lectura exhaustiva se seleccionaron un total de 24 artículos. Los resultados mostraron que en cada dimensión de la mujer existen dificultades que impiden la instauración o mantenimiento de la lactancia y que todo ello sería más llevadero con cambios en la política, en la sociedad y por último con la ayuda de los profesionales de salud.

[eng] It is a widespread belief that breastfeeding, being as it is a natural process, is something simple, but reality and facts tell us otherwise, and the main objective of this essay is to make known how the mother is affected by it at a psychological, physical and social level, and how its duration can be affected by all of those factors. In order to research this topic I have looked through different sources and bibliographic resources, such as Pubmed and Cinahl, using tags and key concepts such as "Breast feeding", "Duration", "Psychosocial Impact" and "Mothers". After reading through all of this material I have come to select 24 articles from it. Results show that there are many hindrances that prevent the widespread establishment of this practice, and that health professionals should weigh in to provide political and societal changes, which might help reverse the situation.
