dc.description.abstract [eng] In this thesis the long-term sea level variability has been studied. Concretely, the types of questions that we attempt to answer are: has Mediterranean sea level risen during the second half of the 20th century? If so, how much? Has been a uniform increase? Which component of sea level has contributed the most to the observed trends? In order to answer those questions, sea level has been reconstructed during the last decades from satellite altimetry and tide gauge data and the different contributions to sea level variability have been quantified. The steric component has been obtained from hydrographic data and baroclinic models whereas the mass component has been obtained from GRACE observations and as the difference between total and steric sea level. ca
