Propuesta de creación de un catálogo evolutivo para el estudio de la arquitectura contemporánea. Una experiencia de investigación sobre la construcción turística en las Islas Baleares

Abstract

[spa] A la hora de afrontar un estudio en torno a la arquitectura contemporánea es imprescindible generar un registro de los edificios que ordene las informaciones obtenidas durante el proceso para así facilitar el análisis. El método habitual es la creación de un catálogo de obras en el que generalmente se opta por recoger los datos de la primera construcción, acompañándolos con una descripción del elemento. En muchas ocasiones, ello no es suficiente para explicar el devenir histórico de la construcción, sus cambios de uso, sus reformas o sus ampliaciones, que son muy habituales en las edificaciones contemporáneas y que suelen jugar un rol muy importante en la manera de percibirlas. Una investigación sobre la arquitectura turística en Baleares ha llevado a cuestionarse la forma tradicional de realizar los catálogos arquitectónicos y a poner en práctica un modelo evolutivo que responde a esta necesidad de recoger todas las fases de la vida útil de la edificación. Con ello se ha conseguido optimizar las tareas de la investigación y se ha aumentado la efectividad de las búsquedas archivísticas, obteniendo una base de datos que puede ayudar a la preservación y a la rehabilitación del patrimonio.

[eng] When facing up a study about contemporary architecture is essential to generate a record of the buildings that arranges all the information obtained all along the process in order to ease the analysis. The usual method is to create a catalogue of the constructions where the compiled data only refer to the initial state of the building, accompanied by a description of it. This cannot be enough to explain the history of the building, ignoring the possible changes of the program that it holds or its shape and size transformations, which are very common when talking about contemporary constructions and which play a very important role in the way we perceive them. A research in architecture for tourism in the Balearics has provoke a reflexion about the traditional form of designing the architecture catalogues and has led to put into practice an evolutionary model that answers to the necessity of collecting all the periods of the life of the building. Thanks to that, it has been possible to optimize the tasks during the research and to increase the effectiveness of the searches in the archives, obtaining a database that can help to the preservation and the rehabilitation of architectural heritage
