[eng] This work aims to identify the symbolism and importance of diplomatic spaces used during the Third Punic War. Structurally, it distinguishes the locations where negotiations took place within walls from those that took place in natural spaces. A detailed analysis of the literary sources has enabled observation of a variety of scenarios fundamentally intended to intimidate, as well as the use of boundary markers upon which particular rituality was imposed. This study seeks to provide an interpretative model of diplomatic praxis in the Middle Republican period.
