Catálogos de juguetes infantiles: un análisis en clave histórica y con perspectiva de género

[spa] En este Trabajo de Fin de Grado se presenta una investigación sobre la evolución histórica de los juguetes mediante el análisis de tres catálogos de juguetes de los años 1987-1988, 2017 y 2023. El estudio aborda el marco teórico de referencia relativo a la importancia del juego en el desarrollo infantil, destacando su papel fundamental en la primera infancia y el derecho de los niños y niñas a jugar. Se examinan las contribuciones de destacados pedagogos como Friedrich Froebel, la educación Waldorf, Maria Montessori y Jean Piaget, entre otros, en relación a cómo sus teorías y prácticas han influido en el diseño y propósito de los juguetes a lo largo del tiempo. Al analizar los catálogos de juguetes seleccionados, los resultados indican que, si bien ha habido una ligera evolución en cuanto a los roles de género representados en los juguetes, aún persisten estereotipos de género profundamente arraigados en la sociedad. Estos hallazgos subrayan la necesidad de seguir trabajando hacia una representación más equitativa y libre de prejuicios en los juguetes que se ofrecen a los niños.

[eng] This Final Degree Project presents an exhaustive research on the historical evolution of toys from several decades ago to the present day. The sample of this work is based on the analysis of three toy catalogues corresponding to the years 1987-1988, 2017 and 2023. The study covers a detailed enquiry into the importance of play in child development, highlighting its fundamental role in early childhood and children's right to play. It examines the contributions of leading educationalists such as Friedrich Froebel, Waldorf education, Maria Montessori and Jean Piaget, among others, in relation to how their theories and practices have influenced the design and purpose of toys over time. By analysing the selected toy catalogues, the results indicate that, while there has been a slight evolution in terms of the gender roles represented in toys, deeply rooted gender stereotypes still persist in society. These findings underline the need to continue working towards a more equal and non-judgmental representation in the toys offered to children.
